Clinical Research

The Physicians and research staff at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties have a strong commitment to clinical research. A clinical research trial is a scientific study that tests the effectiveness of a new medical treatment, medication or device with volunteer patients. Patient volunteers receive these investigational treatments under close supervision of a physician, our research coordinators and the sponsor of the clinical trial.

All study treatments conducted at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties have completed phases in animal testing and early human testing. In these clinical trials information is collected from physical examinations, laboratory, radiology and other tests as well as volunteer evaluations regarding the treatment effectiveness. The exams and tests are usually provided at no cost to the volunteer. A detailed description of what is expected of the patient volunteer will be given to you and the research staff will go over together before the study is started. The choice to participate is completely yours. If you do choose to participate, you will be making an important contribution to the future of healthcare.

Please see our list of current clinical trials. If you are interested in participating, or if you would like to learn more, please feel free to call our office (402-483-8612) and ask for one of our research coordinators.

Thank you for your interest in the Clinical Research Department at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties.
